Dengtiel A. Kur is an Advocate and Commissioner for Oaths with a legal career that spans Kenya and South Sudan. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Khartoum.
Few advocates bring to their practice what Deng does. Eight years on the Bench as a Judge before returning to legal practice is a distinction that colours everything about how he approaches the law. His practice covers Criminal and Civil Litigation, Corporate and Commercial Law, Humanitarian Law, Property Conveyance, Legislative Drafting, and Labour Law.
Deng has also been deeply involved in the institutions that shape the legal profession in South Sudan. He served as Secretary General of the South Sudan Law Society and currently sits in the National Legislative Assembly, where he chairs the Legal Department of the South Sudan Parliament and Council of States.
He is proficient in English and Classical Arabic, and speaks several South Sudanese indigenous languages.
